"Sneak Peek"

Students worked very hard on creating our classroom cross. The students chose colours of yarn that represented themselves- favourite colours, yellow: because they like the sun etc. Each twig represents how every student is unique but when placed together in our cross we are together. They did a beautiful job!

Students were very excited to create our hundreds chart! We used a variety of materials to create the numbers and students had fun placing the numbers in order! Halfway to 100!

Representing numbers with ten frames!

Students had a great time learning about primary and secondary colours while creating beautiful flowers!

Working on addition with math games!

Happy "DOT" day! It was so great to see the students wearing dots whether they already had clothes with dots or made their own! :) Here are some of the activities we were up to!

This week in math students worked on identifying numbers in ten frames, adding, and composing numbers with blocks!

We also tested our fine motor skills with our leaf stamp art! Students collected 1-2 leaves from the school yard, painted them white and then stamped then on black paper. With a sponge and paint students then surrounded the leaves with beautiful fall colours!

In Visual Arts we are learning about different types of line and what a great month to combine it with pumpkins!

We were inspired by artist Romero Britto

Here are a few samples of students work in progress!

In Language students are learning about recount writing using first, next, then and last.

Students are using recount writing to explain what their Halloween character does in a haunted house!

Our hundreds chart is complete!

Complete pumpkins!
